Crews Respond To Small Fire At Far East Bowling Alley | Business
An overloaded electrical outlet appeared to be the cause of a small fire at Dream Lanes on Madison's far east side, according to the Madison Fire Department.
Fire officials said that crews arrived at about 2:30 a.m. on Friday morning to find a small piece of charred carpet where a vacuum cord was plugged into an extension cord.
Firefighters said they followed the extension cord to an outlet behind the main counter. They said the breaker had tripped causing the surge, but they also found a splitter and multiple surge protectors and about 15 cords plugged into them.
Officials said there were similar cord configurations under the cashier counter and behind the bar.
All of the plugs that were unsafe were unplugged by crews, officials said.
